WHERE WE’VE BEEN...
A Spanish company (Burnison Engineering S.A.) was established in 1987 and projects were undertaken with the ASTANO shipyard in ballast and stability systems for the semi-submersible MODU – “Drillmar 1”, which was followed by the electrical and automation engineering for new build FPSO “Gryphon-A”. Expertise developed on the Gryphon-A project provided the basis for Turret control systems for North Sea based FPSO’s “Texaco Captain” and “Global Producer-111”. BESA was transferred to other ownership in 1996.
From 1993, the Company provided technical and commercial management services at the ASTANDER shipyard culminating in the lengthening and conversion of the DFDS Ro-Ro Ferry “Dana-Maxima” in 1996. Between 1997 and 2003 a number of electro-hydraulic valve control and pipeline emergency shut-down systems were delivered from local affiliate, AVECO, to installations in Venezuela.
